Graduated in clinical psychology and psychopathology from Saint-Joseph University of Beirut
Mayda Salem is a trilingual (Arabic, English, and French) psychotherapist who has a culturally diverse experience working with Western expatriate as well as Arabs. She’s experienced in childhood, adolescence and adulthood field as well as counselling for parents and children, with a demonstrated history in child protection and in working in the research industry.
As a mental health professional, her expertise spans over different cultural and social settings. Interested in research on neosexuality, attachment styles and couples dynamics from a social, cultural, philosophical, anthropological and psychoanalytical point of view, her method combines using the psychodynamic approach as well as the attachment theory approach to bring awareness to her client’s concerns and challenges, while providing a nurturing and safe environment.
She strongly believes in prioritising the client-therapist connection, as it is a key component for successful treatment.
Her creative skills allow the enhancement of therapeutic horizons as she’s a versatile spirit who believes in an moulded approach to human nature and in the strength of a community.
